What is the
Quebec Referendum Online?
Baton Broadcasting Inc., and Online Direct Inc. have teamed up to create a voting and discussion area on the Internet for Canadians to discuss what happens after the October 30, 1995, Quebec Referendum. The area will utilize the following Cyberspace Formats:
- Users will find two questionnaires, one "If Quebec Votes Yes" and the other "If Quebec Votes No", where we pose a series of questions to Canadians about what to do in either event. Canadians can vote only once, using their email addresses.
- The Results of the questions will be made available both in numerical and percentage form.
- There is a top ten forum where Canadians can submit entries for the top ten reasons that Quebec should stay and leave Canada. All entries (subject to restrictions relating to hate literature, and common decency) will be posted for browsing, along with both top ten lists.
- There is a public news forum where Canadians can discuss issues surrounding the Quebec Referendum or Quebec after the vote.
- There are hotlinks to the Quebec and Canadian Political Newsgroups as well as to the Comite national du Oui and Committee of Quebeckers for the NO.
Results from the poll and the top ten lists will be released periodically during the runup to the October 30, 1995 Quebec referendum, and can be seen on Baton Broadcasting and affiliate television stations across Canada.
