Top 10 reasons why Quebec should leave Canada

Quebec is already like a foreign country with its own language, culture and civil law. The French in Quebec do not like the English. Even those French who will vote "no" in the referendum are not true federalists. They are motivated only by economic considerations or fear of change.
The separtist movement in Quebec is too strong to ignore. The only way that they will be put to rest is to allow them the opportunity to try their experiment of independence. Once out, Canada must treat them as fairly as we would any other nation - which means fair to Canadians as well!!! As other comments have mentioned comparisons to the wayward child negotiations should be conducted with 'tough love'. There should be no shared currency, passport, etc., no free rides in regards to the National Debt, no larger land grants other than the original Lower Canada one. In effect, Quebec should have to pay it's own way. Independence is great but it does have a cost. Once on their own, Quebecers would no doubt find that their politicians have been playing head games with them just like our federal politicians play headgames with Canadians. Lots of promises with no substance only fewer jobs and services combined with ever increasing taxes. The worst case scenario is that the Quebec independence experiment would work - in which case maybe we could join them!!!
This country is now bilingual due to a large french population in quebec. This endeavour was also supposed to strengthen and french language and quebec heritage in the Canadian lifestyle. Quebec maintains special laws and acts to restrict the use of english in their province while we spent millions on french language training, bilingual government access and bilingual packaging for industry. If any other province were to create a law to restrict french in their respective province, all hell would break loose.
Then they could be a nuclear test site for france
Economically speaking, two entities means more local (provincial) efficiency. A separated Quebec would merely defend the interests of the province of the same name while a new RDC government would manage business in due course for its own citizens.
It is only fair that if Quebec gets to vote to separate, we get to vote to have anything to do with them after they separate. We all know what the result of such a referendum would be. In fact, I think that such a announcement would help the NO side, because most people in Quebec know what the result would be and would therefore be a lot more careful with their vote. I think that the Yes side is counting on (and it seems to be working to some extend) convincing the people of Quebec that they can intimidate (or blackmail or whatever you want to call it) the government of Canada into negotiating with them such deals, using their part of the national debt as a barganing chip. They would continue to do that until they would get a deal good for them, not good for the rest of Canada, that's obvious. However a democratic Referendum by the rest of Canada on these matters would surely stop their train.
It is the young and very old who want to have their own country. Eventually, the young will be a majority and the yes side will win. It will never end and they will leave eventually so they might as well go now....
I have to agree with the number 1 reason. Quebec will never be happy as part of Canada and we will always have this independence movement hanging over our heads. Every four or five years our dollar will continue to take a beating, our unity will be questioned and the cycle will start again. I say let them go and lets get on with building a real country.
Quebec is part of Canada and although should be reconized for thier cuture (which they are already...they now get more privlages then most provinces already). If Canada is to be a country then we all must act like one and stop the infighting. We should all abide by the same rules and regulations and act as a team.
